Hola mis amigos!! I'M A MISSIONARY AHHHHH this is so wild. I'm so sorry I haven't sent an email yet. I just haven't had a lot to write about... I'm a little over halfway through the "at home MTC." So far it has been such a good experience! I LOVE my companion and district! My companion and I are the exact same. Hermana Brewer is from Minnesota and she's so dope! So funny and spiritual – I really am so blessed. My district is the best too. Honestly I wouldn't trade any of them! We are all so different but get along so well. It is such a cool environment where random people can get together and just talk about Christ and laugh at how bad we are at Spanish but somehow still become besties. I feel a little pointless emailing you all because not much has happened. I've just been studying 24/7.
My district
Going into the MTC, I was still even a little hesitant about whether or not I wanted to serve a mission. I knew I wanted to, that's why I put in my papers. But man, Satan gets to you. He would just make me doubt everything. But let me tell you guys something, I'm so glad I chose to serve! The first day of class I felt so much peace! Being online is tricky but I LOVE that I can spend more time with my family because they really are such a blessing in my life!
Entering the Home MTC
Since I've been trying to learn Spanish, I have to make do with the few words I know. I don't know how to say “hurt” so whenever I want to say that, I say "enferma" which means sick ha-ha. I was outside with my brother and I hurt my foot and I was trying to tell my dad that it hurt and I just kept saying "owww mi pie es enferma". But hey, he understood what I was saying. My Spanish is very bad but I move my hands a lot when I talk so I'm praying that my movements will help people understand what I'm trying to say. But please still pray that other missionaries and I will get the gift of tongues!
Feel free to email me whenever or check out my blog at: HermanaRachelDurante.blogspot.com! I love you all so much <333
